Baseball Recap: Polytechnic Wins Going Away Against Chadwick

Polytechnic barely beat Chadwick the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over the Dolphins on Thursday. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Dolphins recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Alejandro KohnRabassa and Myles Pergament made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, KohnRabassa pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Pergament tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He is becoming a predictor of Polytechnic's success: when he allows at most two hits the team is 2-1 (and 5-9 when he doesn't). At the plate, KohnRabassa got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base, while Pergament went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double. Those two RBI gave Pergament a new career-high.

Polytechnic's victory bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Chadwick, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-7.

Looking ahead, Polytechnic will face off against Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. The last five games the Cardinals have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Chadwick, they will challenge Rio Hondo Prep at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
