Salinas' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alissa Escutia, who scored 11 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Escutia has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Alice Uchida, who scored ten points.
Everett Alvarez has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season. As for Salinas, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.
Everett Alvarez will be playing in front of their home fans against Watsonville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Watsonville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 31 on Wednesday. As for Salinas, they will head out on the road to take on Pacific Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Pacific Grove is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
