On Wednesday, Greater Latrobe came up short against Forest Hills and fell 52-45. While losing is never fun, Greater Latrobe can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 178th, while Forest Hills is ranked 40th).
Forest Hills' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Arissa Britt, who scored 13 points along with six assists. Another player making a difference was Alexis Henderson, who scored 19 points.
This is the second loss in a row for Greater Latrobe and nudges their season record down to 5-8. As for Forest Hills, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greater Latrobe won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Oakland Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on January 18th. Oakland Catholic is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Forest Hills, they will head out on the road to square off against Bellwood-Antis at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Bellwood-Antis is on a three-game streak of home wins, Forest Hills a ten-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
