The Bell Gardens Lancers entered their tilt with the San Gabriel Matadors with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Bell Gardens claimed a resounding 72-44 victory over San Gabriel on the road. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 41-19.
Bell Gardens was led to victory by Deanna Moore and Karen Ramirez. Moore dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten steals, while Ramirez scored 30 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. That makes it four consecutive games in which Ramirez has scored at least 25% of Bell Gardens' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Soledad Ramirez, who scored four points along with eight assists and five rebounds.
Bell Gardens has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record this season. As for San Gabriel, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-15.
Bell Gardens will head out on the road to face off against Mark Keppel at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mark Keppel is on a three-game streak of home wins, Bell Gardens a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. San Gabriel will take on Montebello at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Montebello comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
