Having just played yesterday, the Steele Canyon Cougars will head out on the road to face off against the Bonita Vista Barons at 1:00 p.m. on January 20th. Steele Canyon is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.
In what's become a running theme this season, Steele Canyon gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They really took it to Valhalla for the full four quarters, racking up a 65-17 win at home. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 36-14.
Meanwhile, Bonita Vista came up short against Leuzinger on Monday and fell 51-41. While losing is never fun, Bonita Vista can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 192nd, while Leuzinger is ranked 32nd).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Bayanai Cordova, who scored 17 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Mahliya Wilson, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 17 rebounds.
Steele Canyon pushed their record up to 14-6 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home. As for Bonita Vista, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11.
