The Exeter-West Greenwich Scarlet Knights will face off against the Hope Blue Wave at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Exeter-West Greenwich will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Exeter-West Greenwich is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: Woonsocket, who was ranked 11th at the time (Exeter-West Greenwich was ranked 21st). The Scarlet Knights walked away with an 11-6 victory over the Villa Novans on Tuesday. Exeter-West Greenwich's win was all the more impressive since the Villa Novans were averaging only 2.69 runs allowed on the season.
Tyler Mediros made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed seven innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off nine hits. Mediros was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.

In other batting news, Ethan Koczwanski was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kole Kilduff, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
Exeter-West Greenwich kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Hope, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top against Davies Career & Tech by a score of 8-3 on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Blue Wave in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won three in a row.
Exeter-West Greenwich pushed their record up to 6-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Hope, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Exeter-West Greenwich came out on top in a nail-biter against Hope in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. Do the Scarlet Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blue Wave turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
