The Chula Vista Spartans will head out on the road to challenge the Tri-City Christian Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Tri-City Christian took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Chula Vista, who comes in off a win.
Chula Vista is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their game on Wednesday with ease, bagging a 52-19 victory over San Ysidro. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Spartans.

Chula Vista relied on the efforts of Nyla Dixie, who almost dropped a triple-double on 15 points, 14 rebounds, and nine steals, and Tracy Echoku, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 21 rebounds. Dixie is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Chula Vista smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 27 offensive boards. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in December of 2023.
Meanwhile, Tri-City Christian unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They had to suffer through a 64-33 loss at the hands of Christian. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-17.
Chula Vista will have to keep a close watch on Katie Busch and Talia Anthony, a pair of players who had a big impact on Tri-City Christian's prior game. Busch dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards, while Anthony went 7 of 12 on her way to 15 points along with five boards and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Johnson, who posted four points and three steals.
Chula Vista now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Tri-City Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Chula Vista didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Tri-City Christian when the teams last played back in November of 2023, but they still walked away with a 36-30 win.
