It was a good run, but the Davis Sr. Blue Devils unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 45-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cosumnes Oaks. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Davis Sr. in their matchups with Cosumnes Oaks: they've now lost eight in a row.
Despite the loss, Davis Sr. still got an impressive performance from Alia Cordone, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Tessa Schouten, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Even though they lost, Davis Sr. smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cosumnes Oaks only pulled down five offensive rebounds.
Cosumnes Oaks' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Caitlin Subejano led the charge by scoring 19 points along with three steals. Subejano is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last three games she's played. Isabel Tan was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds.
Davis Sr.'s defeat dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Cosumnes Oaks, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 14-8 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Davis Sr. will take on Laguna Creek at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Laguna Creek is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses. As for Cosumnes Oaks, they will be playing at home against St. Francis at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. St. Francis is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 56.5 points per game.
