The Canyon Hills Rattlers will head out on the road to challenge the San Dieguito Academy Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Canyon Hills will be strutting in after a win while San Dieguito Academy will be coming in after a loss.
Canyon Hills will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Thursday, then bounced right back against Crawford on Tuesday. The Rattlers narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Colts 11-10. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Rattlers have posted since March 27th.

The team relied heavily on Taylon Sheriff, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Josue Flores also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Canyon Hills kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, San Dieguito Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of Canyon Crest Academy.
Patrick Krenkler put in work no matter where he played. He pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Gage Garrison made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Elis Rosenzweig was another key player, earning one RBI, one run, and one stolen base.
San Dieguito Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Canyon Hills, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 7-10-2.
Canyon Hills suffered a grim 13-2 defeat to San Dieguito Academy when the teams last played back in March of 2021. Can the Rattlers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
