Basketball Recap: Laton Takes a Loss

Laton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were dealt a 46-17 defeat at the hands of the Granite Hills Grizzlies. The Mustangs were probably out for revenge after losing 35-12 to them when the teams met back in December of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, Laton still got an impressive performance from Gabriella Alvarado, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Alvarado is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down ten or more in the last five games she's played.

Laton's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Granite Hills, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-5.

Laton will take on Fresno Christian in a holiday battle at at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Granite Hills and McFarland will compete for holiday cheer at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
