Rancho Mirage and Palm Springs are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Rancho Mirage Rattlers will be home for the holidays to greet the Palm Springs Indians at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rancho Mirage is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
On December 1st, Rancho Mirage took a serious blow against Marymount, falling 45-6. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Rancho Mirage has scored all season.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Palm Springs ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They managed a 40-35 victory over Banning. The win was just what Palm Springs needed coming off of a 49-26 defeat in their prior matchup.
Palm Springs got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Miley Flores out in front who scored 13 points along with five steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Flores has scored at least 25% of Palm Springs' points. Another player making a difference was Naomi Bote, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Rancho Mirage's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-6. As for Palm Springs, their victory bumped their record up to 5-7.
Rancho Mirage came up short against Palm Springs in their previous meeting back in January, falling 31-23. Can Rancho Mirage avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
