The Sonora Wildcats fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Bret Harte Bullfrogs on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bullfrogs by a score of 50-47. Sonora's loss continues an unfortunate trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Sonora lost, one person who can't be blamed is Taylor Faught. Despite the final result, she scored 17 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Faught is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. Adeline Hanson was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Sonora bumped their record down to 9-10 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Bret Harte, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sonora will square off against Calaveras at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bret Harte, they will head out on the road to square off against Amador at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
