The Orestimba Warriors fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against the Davis Spartans on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 44-42. Orestimba was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Davis apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
When it comes to explaining why Orestimba lost, one person who can't be blamed is Olivia Gray. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds. Gray set a new season high mark in steals with eight. Another player making a difference was Jenessa Gonzalez, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds.
Orestimba now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Davis, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Orestimba and Ripon Christian will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Ripon Christian is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. Davis will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Mountain House at 7:15 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
