On Thursday, Marshall was able to grind out a solid win over Ramona, taking the game 34-22. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Marshall.
Marshall got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Maryn Goodwin out in front who scored 11 points. Destiny Ihiaso was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
Ramona lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Olivia Molina, who scored five points along with nine rebounds. Molina is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Athena Berber, who scored four points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Ramona struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Marshall's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Ramona, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-2.
Marshall is on the road again on Saturday and play against Pioneer at 1:30 p.m. on December 9th. Pioneer has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Ramona, they will square off against South Hills at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
