After a string of three wins, the Jordan Panthers's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. Their tough 54-32 loss to Long Beach Poly might stick with them for a while. Jordan has not had much luck with the Jackrabbits recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Bryanna Moran, who scored nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Janiah Lorn, who scored seven points along with two steals.
Leading Long Beach Poly to victory were Jazmyne Shamburger and Bailey Prewitt. Shamburger scored 13 points along with seven steals and five rebounds, while Prewitt dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. Shamburger has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Taylor, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Jordan's loss dropped their record down to 18-7. As for Long Beach Poly, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season.
