Softball Recap: Verdigris Extends Winning Streak to Five

Verdigris extended their winning streak to five on Thursday, bumping them up to 19-7. They never let the Vinita Hornets get on the board and left with a 7-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Cardinals, who have now won 14 games by seven runs or more so far this season.

As for Vinita, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-21 record this season. Hornets fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against Verdigris since Thursday.

For Vinita's part, CC Carter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and four unearned) runs on seven hits.

Verdigris does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Vinita has already played their next matchup (against Adair), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
