Basketball Recap: Mcconnellsburg Drops Highest Score of Season Against Southern Fulton

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask McConnellsburg). They strolled past the Southern Fulton Indians with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 61-42. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 58-33 back in December of 2024.

Southern Fulton's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Claire Harvey, who went 7 for 14 en route to 16 points and five steals, and Sosefina Ah Loe, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 17 rebounds. Ah Loe is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Alexis Johnson was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals.

McConnellsburg's win bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Southern Fulton, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McConnellsburg will head out to challenge Northern Bedford County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Southern Fulton, they will venture away from home to square off against Everett at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Everett has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
