The California Condors came tearing into Friday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They managed a 46-42 win over Walnut. That result was just more of the same for these two, as California also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Maileeh Suasti, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Sophia Rosas, who scored four points along with 13 rebounds.
California has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for Walnut, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. California will square off against La Serna at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. La Serna will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. As for Walnut, they will head out on the road to take on Los Altos at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
