She looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing five innings while giving up just two earned  (and three unearned) runs off   nine  hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in six consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate,  going 2-for-3 with one  home run, two  RBI,  and one  double. That  double marked the first that  she has  hit this season.
 In other batting news,  Kaelyn Halsey made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and  went 2-for-3 with one  triple, one  run,  and one  RBI. That  triple was  her first of the season. Another player making a difference was  Athena Bretschneider, who  went 2-for-3 with two  stolen bases and one  run.
Pierce's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Blue River, their record is now 6-2.
