In what's become a running theme this season, the Buena Park Coyotes gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Troy 89-61 at home. Winning may never get old, but Buena Park sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Buena Park to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mya Barnes, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 15 rebounds. Bella Harmon was another key contributor, dropping a triple-double on 17 points, 15 rebounds, and ten assists.
Troy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Annika Jiwani, who scored 23 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylene Vivo, who scored 16 points along with three steals and three blocks.
Troy struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Buena Park racked up 19 assists.
Buena Park is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. As for Troy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-13.
Buena Park will head out on the road to square off against the Lancers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sunny Hills is on a five-game streak of home wins, the Coyotes a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Troy will take on the Raiders at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
