The Moreno Valley Vikings will take on the Citrus Hill Hawks at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Moreno Valley 3.4, Citrus Hill 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Citrus Hill will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Moreno Valley extended their winning streak to four on Tuesday. The Vikings never let Heritage get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory. Considering the Vikings have won seven contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

D. McCauley
04/22/25 @ Heritage | 4 |
04/11/25 @ Redlands East Valley | 2 |
03/28/25 vs Kennedy | 2 |
03/26/25 vs La Sierra | 2 |
03/20/25 @ Citrus Hill | 2 |
The team relied heavily on D. McCauley, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was JJ Vazquez, who went 2-for-5 with two runs and one stolen base.
The home team had come away the winner the last six times Citrus Hill and Hemet had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Hawks had just enough and edged out the Bulldogs 5-4. The Hawks haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Efren Urrea spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on two hits.
On the hitting side, Citrus Hill let Riley Corlew and Kaden Farmer run wild. Corlew went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run, while Farmer went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Jordan Zamora was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Moreno Valley's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-8. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Citrus Hill, their victory bumped their record up to 13-5.
Moreno Valley skirted past Citrus Hill 10-9 in their previous matchup back in March. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
