Hermantown is 8-2 against North Branch since February of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Hermantown Hawks will be home for the holidays to greet the North Branch Vikings at 6:00 p.m. Hermantown knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully North Branch likes a good challenge.
Hermantown pushed their score all the way to 63 last Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They received a tough blow as they fell 80-63 to Mankato West. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Hermantown has scored all season.
Meanwhile, North Branch pushed their score all the way to 87 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Becker 93-87. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Thursday (68), North Branch still had to take the loss.
Hermantown's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-4. As for North Branch, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-2.
Hermantown beat North Branch 72-59 when the teams last played back in February. Will Hermantown repeat their success, or does North Branch have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
