After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Annenberg, the Orthopaedic Vipers were happy to have found some success on Wednesday. They blew past Animo Bunche 40-10 at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Orthopaedic has managed all season.
Orthopaedic had a senior duo take command as Jackie Garcia scored ten points and Melanie Hernandez scored 12 points. Those ten points set a new season-high mark for her.
Orthopaedic has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-7 record this season. As for Animo Bunche, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Orthopaedic will challenge USC-MAE at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Animo Bunche, they will head out on the road to face off against Downtown Magnets at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Downtown Magnets comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 19 points in their last seven games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
