Panorama hasn't had much luck against Sylmar recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Panorama Pythons just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Sylmar Spartans at 5:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Panorama is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against San Fernando on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Panorama was beaten by San Fernando 69-29. The Pythons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-17.

Despite the loss, Panorama got top-tier performance from VALERY QUEZADA, who went 10 of 17 on her way to 21 points and eight boards. The contest was QUEZADA's third in a row with at least ten points.
Even though they lost, Panorama smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in nine consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Sylmar was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Wednesday as they fell 50-45 to Reseda.
Panorama will need focus on slowing down Yaneli Zuniga-Hernandez, one of several Sylmar players who made an impact when they last played. She posted 16 points and three steals. That was a full 35.6% of Sylmar's points, marking the third time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Julie Pineda, who scored eight points and seven rebounds.
Panorama's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Sylmar, they dropped their record down to 3-9 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Panorama has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 30.1 boards per game. However, it's not like Sylmar struggles in that department as they've been averaging 25 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Panorama lost to Sylmar on the road by a decisive 58-40 margin in their previous meeting back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Sylmar's Isabella Gonzalez, who went 9 for 20 en route to 25 points. Now that Panorama knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
