Pacifica Christian had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs) and they went ahead and made it nine on Friday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Webb Gauls a 15-0 shutout. Considering the Tritons have won 11 contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Johnny Coopman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Scout Escobedo, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. John Peterson was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.

Pacifica Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in six consecutive games.
