In what's become a running theme this season, Cosumnes Oaks gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They breezed by Sheldon on the road to the tune of 63-23. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-14.
Cosumnes Oaks' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Isabel Tan led the charge by scoring 17 points along with six assists and five steals. Tan hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Caitlin Subejano, who scored 18 points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Davis Sr. entered their tilt with Grant with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Davis Sr. secured a 54-48 W over Grant on Friday. The win was all the more spectacular given Davis Sr.'s disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 286th, while Grant is ranked 98th).
Cosumnes Oaks is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 13-8 record this season. As for Davis Sr., their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-9.
Cosumnes Oaks didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Davis Sr. when the teams last played two weeks ago, but they still walked away with a 57-51 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Davis Sr.'s Tessa Schouten, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 13 rebounds.
