Kaiser got a great performance from Zeke Isaak Cortez as he struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. That's the most strikeouts Cortez has posted since back in April of 2025.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Tino Isaiah Cuellar, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Joey Alexander Chavez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run.
Kaiser was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cajon only posted a batting average of .200.
Grand Terrace hit King with a five-run sixth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wolves fell just short of the Titans by a score of 8-7. The loss was the Wolves' first of the season.
Diego Loza and Adan Diaz did some serious damage despite the final result: Loza got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Diaz went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Loza also put up a hit, which was his first of the season.
Having lost for the first time this season, King fell to 3-1. As for Kaiser, their record is now 3-0.
Kaiser couldn't quite finish off King when the teams last played back in February of 2024 and fell 3-1. Can the Cats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
