After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Southern Huntingdon County, the Juniata Indians were happy to have found some success on Monday. They took down Greenwood 49-33. This was payback for Juniata, who suffered a 44-23 loss the last time these two teams met.
Juniata's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Regan Lowrey, who scored 13 points along with six assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Lowrey has scored at least 25% of Juniata's points. Haley Mummah was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Greenwood lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Sophie Myers, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds. Those 15 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Leah Ritzman, who scored eight points along with four blocks.
Juniata pushed their record up to 6-2 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Greenwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.
Juniata will be home for the holidays to greet Upper Dauphin Area at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Upper Dauphin Area focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Monday. Greenwood and St. Hubert Catholic for Girls will round out the year against one another at 6:00 p.m. on December 27th at.
