Resurrection Christian is 0-8 against University since August of 2020 but things could change on Tuesday. The Cougars will head out to take on the Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. Resurrection Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.3 runs per game this season.
Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Resurrection Christian turned things around against Platte Valley on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Broncos with a sharp 15-4 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Cougars needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Resurrection Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 5-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but University ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past Eaton 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted against the Reds since October 23, 2021.
Sydney Goetzel made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Emma Zacheis was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Another player making a difference was Bergen Duarte, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Resurrection Christian's record now sits at 7-9. As for University, their record is now 19-2.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Resurrection Christian hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .344. However, it's not like University struggles in that department as they've averaged .436. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Resurrection Christian suffered a grim 25-3 defeat to University in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
