If the Weskan Coyotes were feeling good off their 67-22 takedown of the Bethune Bobcats last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Weskan took a 65-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Logan/Palco. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Weskan in their matchups with Logan/Palco: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the loss, Weskan still got an impressive performance from Trey Allen, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. Allen is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 17 every time he's taken the court this season. Brennan Aldridge was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Even though they lost, Weskan smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Logan/Palco only pulled down seven offensive rebounds.
Logan/Palco was led to victory by Cameron Morgan and Rhett Kats. Morgan scored 17 points, while Kats dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. Kats has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Case Ashmore, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Weskan has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-7 record this season. As for Logan/Palco, they pushed their record up to 13-3 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Weskan will be playing at home against St. Francis on Monday. Weskan is facing St. Francis at the right time seeing as St. Francis is stuck on a 15-game losing streak. As for Logan/Palco, they will be playing at home against Plainville at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Logan/Palco has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 404 points over their last six games.
