Calvert is a perfect 10-0 against Danbury since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Senecas will be taking part in a tournament against the Lakers at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Monday, Calvert made easy work of Columbian and carried off an 11-1 victory. The Senecas haven't had any issues with the Tornadoes recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Cameron Moyer made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Moyer was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Vincenzo Lyons was excellent, going 2-for-3 with four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Logan Ritzler was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Calvert always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Columbian only posted an OBP of .263.
The scorekeeper got an easy start on Friday as neither Danbury nor Gibsonburg made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Lakers blew past the Golden Bears 11-2. The high-scoring effort was just what the Lakers needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.
Tommy Dean spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up ten Ks. He has become a key player for Danbury: the team is undefeated when he posts at least eight strikeouts, but 9-11 otherwise.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Logan Lucas, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Danbury's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 8-1 (and 4-10 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Shepherd, who earned two runs and one stolen base.
Danbury now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Calvert, their victory bumped their record up to 22-2-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Calvert has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Danbury struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Calvert's way against Danbury in their previous matchup back in April, as Calvert made off with a 10-3 win. Do the Senecas have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lakers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
