Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Lanier County walked away with it. They put the hurt on the Washington-Wilkes Tigers with a sharp 10-0 win on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won 18 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Lanier County is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Washington-Wilkes, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-22.

Lanier County wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 13-3 win against Seminole County on the 29th. Washington-Wilkes does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
