Basketball Recap: Windber's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Windber extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Evan Brady. The Windber Ramblers walked away with a 63-53 win over the North Star Cougars on Friday thanks in part to Brady, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. Brady is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least eight every time he's taken the court this season.

Defeat or not, North Star got some senior leadership from Ethan Smith and Andy Retassie. Smith dropped a double-double on 25 points and 12 rebounds, while Retassie posted 15 points along with seven boards and five assists. Bryson Durst also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Windber's victory bumped their record up to 10-4. As for North Star, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 10-4.

Windber won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Mercyhurst Prep at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Mercyhurst Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Windber likes a good challenge. As for North Star, they will head out on the road to take on Glendale at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. North Star is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60 points per game this season.
