The Pine-Richland Rams were the 45-34 winner over the Seneca Valley Raiders when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Pine-Richland took a 47-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Seneca Valley. While losing is never fun, Pine-Richland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 271st, while Seneca Valley is ranked 76th).
Despite the loss, Pine-Richland still got an impressive performance from Madison Zavasky, who scored 26 points along with three steals. The matchup was Zavasky's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Catherine Gentile, who scored eight points.
Pine-Richland's loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-8. As for Seneca Valley, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pine-Richland will square off against Norwin at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Seneca Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against North Allegheny at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
