Uniontown is 7-0 against the Scotties since January of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. Uniontown has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell to Belle Vernon 69-65. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Saturday (55), Uniontown still had to take the loss.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jeremiah Hager, who went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 21 points and 1 assist. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Tori Grooms was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Meanwhile, Southmoreland suffered a rough 83-63 defeat at the hands of the Warriors on Tuesday.
Uniontown has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-3 record this season. As for Southmoreland, their loss dropped their record down to 14-5.
Uniontown beat the Scotties 66-54 when the teams last played last Monday. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Southmoreland's Ty Keffer, who scored 22 points.
