Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Granite Hills). Everything went their way against the El Capitan Vaqueros on Thursday as they made off with an 18-1 win. Winning may never get old, but the Eagles sure are getting used to it with their 12th in a row.
Tommy Entrekin made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April. He was even better at the plate, going 5-for-6 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. He has been hot recently, having posted three or more RBI the last three times he's played.
In other batting news, Granite Hills got a massive performance out of Trevor Smith, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs Smith has posted since back in May of 2024. Anthony Miotti also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.
