Meanwhile, Denfeld were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap, as they fell 8-14 to Hermantown. This makes it the second defeat in a row for Denfeld.
Duluth East's victory lifted them to 3-1 while Denfeld's loss dropped them down to 1-2. We'll find out if Duluth East can add another positive mark to their record or if Denfeld can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Duluth East's step.
