The Ramona Bulldogs will venture away from home to challenge the San Dieguito Academy Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Ramona is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
On Friday, Ramona made easy work of Canyon Crest Academy and carried off a 14-4 win. Considering the Bulldogs have won seven games by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Justin Jarrett was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Ramona let Blake Hollopeter and Derek Taylor run wild. Hollopeter went 4-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI, while Taylor went 3-for-5 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave Hollopeter a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cal Melendez, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Ramona always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Canyon Crest Academy only posted an OBP of .290.
Meanwhile, San Dieguito Academy fell victim to Escondido and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 17-0 to the Cougars. Mustangs fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Cougars since on Friday.
Ramona's record now sits at 15-7. As for San Dieguito Academy, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-17 record.
San Dieguito Academy's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Ramona hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .336. It's a different story for San Dieguito Academy, though, as they've only averaged .192. Will they be able to contain Ramona's hitters?
Ramona came out on top in a nail-biter against San Dieguito Academy in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
