Katella is 1-7 against Westminster since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Katella Knights will be playing in front of their home fans against the Westminster Lions at 6:30 p.m.
Katella suffered their biggest defeat since December 8, 2023 on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 59-32 loss at the hands of Segerstrom. While losing is never fun, Katella can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 569th, while Segerstrom is ranked 259th).
Meanwhile, Westminster had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 31-28 victory over Ocean View on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Westminster has posted yet this season.
This is the second loss in a row for Katella and nudges their season record down to 12-7. As for Westminster, their victory ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-16.
Katella beat Westminster 50-38 when the teams last played on January 5th. Will Katella repeat their success, or does Westminster have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
