The Tehachapi Warriors can now show off 15 landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 71-19 victory over West at home. Winning may never get old, but Tehachapi sure is getting used to it with their 11th in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tehachapi to victory, but perhaps none more so than Koree Rodden, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rodden has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jamie Neaderbaomer, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Loss or not, West got some senior leadership from Mikayla Villalobos and Caleigh Adams. Villalobos scored 12 points, while Adams. scored seven points. That was a full 36.8% of West's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, West struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Tehachapi is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-2 record this season. As for West, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-7.
Tehachapi will head out on the road to challenge East Bakersfield at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. East Bakersfield is on a three-game streak of home wins, Tehachapi a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for West, they will face off against Yucca Valley at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Yucca Valley has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 215 points over their last three contests.
