The Capistrano Valley Cougars and the El Rancho Dons will round out the year against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday at. Capistrano Valley is hoping to put an end to a ten-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Capistrano Valley scored the most points they've had all season to find success last Friday. They came out on top against Rancho Alamitos by a score of 39-32. The win was just what Capistrano Valley needed coming off of a 46-24 loss in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, El Rancho came up short against Diamond Ranch on Monday and fell 38-26. It was the first time this season that El Rancho let down their fans at home.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Emery Riker, who scored eight points along with 17 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Carissa Basurto, who scored five points along with seven rebounds.
Capistrano Valley's win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-4. As for El Rancho, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-5.
