While it was all tied up 15-15 at halftime, the Bedford Bisons were not quite the Chestnut Ridge Lions's equal in the second half on Friday. Bedford fell 39-28 to Chestnut Ridge. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Bedford has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Bedford lost, one person who can't be blamed is Autumn Becker. Despite the final result, she scored 14 points. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for her. Katie Mcdevitt was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Ashlie Weaver continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Chestnut Ridge, dropping a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which Weaver has scored at least 25% of Chestnut Ridge's points. Another player making a difference was Isabella Hillegass, who scored six points along with nine rebounds and three blocks.
This is the second loss in a row for Bedford and nudges their season record down to 2-4. As for Chestnut Ridge, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with that win, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season.
Bedford will be home for the holidays to greet Forest Hills at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Forest Hills presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Bedford in Pennsylvania (Forest Hills is ranked 19th, while Bedford is ranked 290th). As for Chestnut Ridge, they will head out on the road to face off against Richland at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
