Basketball Game Preview: Carver High School of Engineering & Science vs. Central Lancers

Carver High School of Engineering & Science will head out to square off against the Central Lancers at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. Carver High School of Engineering & Science will be strutting in after a win while Central will be coming in after a defeat.

Carver High School of Engineering & Science is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Science Leadership Academy: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Carver High School of Engineering & Science blew Science Leadership Academy out of the water with a 47-14 final score. Carver High School of Engineering & Science pushed the score to 42-12 by the end of the third, a deficit Science Leadership Academy had little chance of recovering from.

Carver High School of Engineering & Science got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Savannah Hall out in front who posted 19 points. With that strong performance, Hall is now averaging an impressive 15.6 points per game. Another player making a difference was Isabella Brown, who earned 12 points.

Meanwhile, Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by Chester and fell 50-23.

Carver High School of Engineering & Science will have to contain Sofia Meer as she made an impact in Central's last game. She went 6 for 10 on her way to 15 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. That was a full 65.2% of Central's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Stevie Hall, who put up two points.

Central's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Carver High School of Engineering & Science, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.

Carver High School of Engineering & Science and Central were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in December of 2023, but Carver High School of Engineering & Science came up empty-handed after a 43-42 loss.
