Laconia has gone 8-2 against Omro recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Spartans will welcome the Foxes at 5:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Laconia 3.3, Omro 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Laconia is headed into the matchup having just posted their closest victory since April 16th on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Ripon 5-3. The win continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won five in a row.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Omro). They were the clear victors by a 16-5 margin over Amherst on Friday. The Foxes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by seven runs or more this season.
Cade Sowls was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Sowls was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and one double. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in April.
In other batting news, Omro got a massive performance out of Bryce Loker, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most runs Loker has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Evan Bernier, who went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Omro always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .523. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Amherst only posted an OBP of .343.
Omro's victory bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Laconia, their win bumped their record up to 11-6.
Everything went Laconia's way against Omro when the teams last played back in April of 2025, as Laconia made off with a 12-2 victory. Do the Spartans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Foxes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
