Softball Recap: Eaglecrest Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Eaglecrest put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past the Vista PEAK Prep Bison 15-0. The Raptors have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bison, too.

Haisley Elliott made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Elliott was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Abby Files was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Lelia Kelliher also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Eaglecrest kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Eaglecrest's record now sits at 5-0. As for Vista PEAK Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Eaglecrest will welcome Heritage at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.67 runs per game on average), something the Raptors will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Vista PEAK Prep, they will venture away from home to face off against Denver East at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The contest will give the Bison their first taste of in-conference action this season.
