The Tulelake Honkers struggled with assists on Friday (the Modoc Braves had 13 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Tulelake was outmatched by Modoc on the road and fell 51-5. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Tulelake has scored all season.
Mareli Hernandez was Tulelake's leading scorer, having posted five points.
Alejandra Perez took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with an assist.
Modoc's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jordyn Sandage, who scored 14 points along with four steals. Katie Erquiaga was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with eight rebounds and five steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Tulelake and nudges their season record down to 4-6. As for Modoc, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-1.
Tulelake is on the road again on Saturday and play against Portola at 10:50 a.m. on December 16th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Portola is ranked 925th, while Tulelake is ranked 950th). Modoc won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Fall River at 4:10 p.m. on December 16th. Fall River is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
