The Selinsgrove Seals's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their sixth straight loss. They were the victim of a rough 50-25 defeat at the hands of Jersey Shore. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Selinsgrove in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now lost five in a row.
Selinsgrove lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Erika Piepszowski, who scored 11 points. Piepszowski is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Shaela Kruskie, who scored five points along with six rebounds.
Peyton Dincher was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 13 rebounds for Jersey Shore. Jocelyn McCracken was another key contributor, scoring six points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Selinsgrove dropped their record down to 4-13 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.0 points per game. As for Jersey Shore, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Selinsgrove will take on the Braves at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Shikellamy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Seals in Pennsylvania (the Braves are ranked 174th, while the Seals are ranked 509th). As for Jersey Shore, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Ironmen at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
