The Lincoln Cougars will challenge the Lewis County Minutemen at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Lincoln's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last six contests.
On Wednesday, Lincoln made easy work of Robert C. Byrd and carried off a 14-5 win. Considering the Cougars have won ten matches by more than eight runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Riley Pearlman, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Aspen Dyer was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one double.
Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Lewis County ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Bridgeport 11-10. Considering the Minutemen's hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Ashley Crook made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over nine innings while giving up just one earned (and nine unearned) runs off seven hits. Crook was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one RBI.
In other batting news, Lewis County got a big performance out of Courtney Boggs, who went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Those two stolen bases gave Boggs a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Audrey Starcher, who went 3-for-5 with two RBI and one run.
Lewis County's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Lincoln, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 13-8.
Lincoln's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's game. The Cougars have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Lewis County, though, as they've been averaging only 1.3 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Lincoln continue to outrun the ball?
Everything went Lincoln's way against Lewis County when the teams last played back in April, as Lincoln made off with a 15-4 win. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Minutemen turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
