Credo is 2-8 against Sonoma Academy since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Credo Gryphon will look to defend their home court against the Sonoma Academy Coyotes at 6:30 p.m. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Tuesday, Credo beat Roseland University Prep 31-24. The win was just what Credo needed coming off of a 44-21 loss in their prior matchup.
Credo's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maya Leach, who scored nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hope Madden, who scored six points.
Meanwhile, Sonoma Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Roseland Collegiate Prep 61-21 at home. Sonoma Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 23 points or more this season.
Credo has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-12 record this season. As for Sonoma Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 12-7.
Credo was dealt a bruising 57-12 defeat at the hands of Sonoma Academy in their previous meeting on January 9th. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Credo was down 30-4.
