Basketball Recap: Millennium Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Gianna Negrete and Sarah Digiallonardo

After flying high against Stockton Christian last Thursday, Millennium came back down to earth. The Millennium Falcons took a 39-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Livermore Cowboys on Tuesday. If the Falcons were looking for revenge after losing 49-41 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Millennium's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Sarah Digiallonardo, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds, and Gianna Negrete, who posted 11 points and five rebounds. Digiallonardo is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down ten or more in the last four games she's played.

Leading Livermore to victory were Angie Bhatia and Sofia Mahmood. Bhatia earned 12 points, while Mahmood put up ten points.

Millennium moved to 6-3 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Livermore, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 3-6 record this season.

Millennium wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 33-20 win against Waterford on the 19th. As for Livermore, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 69-4 loss against Carondelet on the 23rd.
